Jackery Generator Troubleshooting

The most common problem with the Jackery Generator power station is the batteries itself. However, there might be some other small peeks you need to check out for when it comes to troubleshooting a Jackery Generator.

1. The PowerStation doesn’t charge: If the power adapter seems to be good, then it could be a faulty battery that may require permanent replacement.
2. No Output power: In the case where your Jackery Generator is fully charged, but cannot supply power to keep your devices powered. Then there is most likely to be a break in the circuit connection from the motherboard.
3. Unit Overheating: In this instance, it’s most likely the fan or cooling system isn’t working. There is likely to be a break in the connection between the motherboard and the fan unit.

Dissembling the Jackery Generator may void the warranty. Therefore the screws holding the unit together have to be removed carefully when performing a DIY repair. In a case where the Jackery PowerStation does not get charged, there is most likely a break in wires connecting to the AC input; you can look for the same wire type and do a quick fix by connecting the AC input to the motherboard on top of the battery.

In a case where the fan of the unit (providing optimum temperature) doesn’t work as with the case with a break in circuit connection, check the wire connection to the motherboard to see if its damaged. Do consider a replacement if it happens to be the case.

I was a Jackery fanboy until my 2yr warranty ran out and just 3 months later my 1000 Explorer decided to just turn itself off and won’t turn back on. It was fully charged when I plugged in my 37 qrt ARB fridge to ready for a camping trip. An hour later the unit had turned off and no amount of resets, attempted charging, etc…. it won’t turn on.

I contacted Jackery to see if there is any after warranty support in the way of a repair facility that I could ship it to and have it repaired (on my dime). Nope, and doesn’t look like they plan to bother. So, now I am holding a very lightly used pretty $1000 brick.

A five year warranty would have sufficed at this point as newer technology would most likely be available by then and worth an upgrade regardless if my Jackery was still running or not.

I contacted several other popular brands regarding after warranty product support and was pleased to find that some have a much longer 5 yr warranty, or offer after warranty repairs in the USA, or both. One company clearly specified that if they can’t help resolve a failed unit after the warranty expires, they will issue a new unit for free and with free shipping, as they are not in a position to have a repair facility set up in the USA. And they too have a solid 5 yr warranty.

Jackery will begin to lose market luster as more units fall out of warranty and fail with no available option for repair.

Hey Craig– I’ve got a Jackery 1000 that has a bad MPPT; I’ve had mine apart and learned a few things. Perhaps we can catch up and make one decent one out of the two. Shoot me an email! first initial + last name at gmail.

I have a jackery power station that will not take charge. I dont have the order number so jackery will not work on it for repairs. Who would you recommend to work on it? I am suspicious that it is the cells that are bad
